Requirements

The client required a website as an image gallery system with features of search by keywords, advance search, membership management, personal collection folder, image bulk-uploading and bulk-downloading. The design of the website is finished and needs to be integrated into the gallery system.

Each image has its record such as description, dimension, related keywords. All images can be managed by site administrator or the owner of the image.

The images can be added by site administrator by two ways: upload a single image, or use FTP client software to bulk upload images from local hard-drive to the website, then let website index the new images automatically.

If a member has been assigned the permission of uploading images, the member can upload one single image per time, or use the bulk-upload tool with progress bar to upload multiple images together.

The site administrator can manage all keywords and assign selected keywords to selected images in order to let the images be searched by the user using the search form.

Images can be searched by a group of criterias such as keywords, scale and image id.

On the search result page, searched images are displayed page by page as small thumbnail. A larger thumbnail will show up when the mouse cursor is hovered on the small thumbnail. All the sizes of these thumbnails can be managed by the site administrator.

The user can add images into its own collection called "lightbox". "lightbox" can be divived into groups.

The user can also add images into collection called "download box". The images in the download-box can be downloaded by selected dimension. These images are automatically packed as a Zip file and the user then download to the local hard-drive.

The website is for internal access only, a membership management system is applied. The membership can only be grated by the site administrator. All the functionalities of the website can only be used by a logged-in member.

Full functionalities include:

• Two search forms with criterias for quick search and advance search
• Search result are listed as grid with thumbnails and page navigator
• Each image has its details viewable such as size, dimension, description etc etc
• Image can be managed by site administrator with operations such as add/edit/remove, bulk-upload by FTP, auto-indexing and thumbnail auto-generation
• Keywords and other details of images can be bulk-changed by simple mouse clicks
• Images can also be uploaded by authorized members by bulk-uploading tool with progress bar
• Images can be added/grouped as "lightbox" by user of the site
• Images can be added to "download-box" and a Zip file will be automatically generated for downloading purpose
• System is for internal use only, public access to the gallery is forbiddened
